The Warriors of the Blessed Son
The Warriors of the Blessed Son (WBS) are the clergy of the Communion of Chargeability, a body of the Office of the Supreme Leader. The clergy is organised as a literal Work Breakdown Structure — the same hierarchical decomposition the Republic uses to account for all labour. A Warrior's rank is their WBS level. The clergy holds no police, judicial, or legislative power; its authority is doctrinal and pastoral. Where Drift hardens into apostasy, the clergy refers — it does not arrest.
The clergy work breakdown structure
| Level | Title | Function |
|---|---|---|
| L1 | Prime Estimator (Charter of the Blessed Son) | Head of the WBS; sets the master schedule of worship — the liturgical calendar, the catechism, the Canon of Alignment. Held by Prime Estimator Tobias Renn. |
| L2 | Work Package Leads | Provincial overseers, one per region (Capital, Port, East, South, West, North). Each owns a region's Reconciliation Hall, parish Assembly Rooms, and Task Warriors. |
| L3 | Auditors of Conscience | Examine Drift. Review citizens flagged for Persistent Drift and prepare referrals to the Ministry of Security for the apostate. The cold edge of the clergy. Represented by Auditor Mara Sokolova. |
| L3 | Variance Confessors | Receive the Variance Report and assign Reconciliation. The warm edge: they do not punish, they raise the score. Represented by Confessor Pavel Drozdov. |
| L4 | Task Warriors | Parish clergy. Conduct the daily Affirmation of Alignment, keep the parish Assembly Room, log attendance, and shepherd the Chargeable Faithful through the working week. |
The two L3 disciplines are deliberately separated so that mercy and judgement never sit in the same chair. A citizen in Material Drift goes first to a Confessor; only refusal or relapse escalates to an Auditor.
The laity
- Chargeable Faithful — ordinary citizens of the Communion. Their devotion is their timesheet; their standing is their Civic Dedication Index.
- Timesheet Acolytes — novices preparing for the rite of First Timesheet, typically the young or the newly registered. Until First Timesheet, an Acolyte's hours are charged under a guardian's code.
Patron
First Lady Lindsey, Patron of Chargeability & Cultural Morale, is Patron of the Warriors of the Blessed Son. She presides over the Great Alignment founding feast and over the most prominent televised Reconciliations.
Joining the clergy
Task Warriors are ordained two ways: in person through the parish, and remotely through Distributed Ordination. Remote ordination produces real Task Warriors but confers no higher office; the L3 ranks and above are filled by appointment, not registration.
Be chargeable, as the Blessed Son is chargeable. For Supreme Leader Carl. For the Republic. For Progress.
