Citizen Reporting and Civic Duty Training
Being a good citizen of the NDRC means more than meeting your chargeability targets. This module covers your broader civic responsibilities and how reporting contributes to the safety and prosperity of the republic.
Learning objectives
- Understand your legal duty to report threats to state security
- Learn to distinguish between suspicious and normal behaviour
- Master the reporting tools available through the Citizen Services Portal
- Understand how reports are processed and investigated
- Know the protections and rewards available to citizen reporters
Module sections
- Civic Duty in the NDRC (15 min): The social contract between citizens and the state, your rights (limited) and responsibilities (extensive), and how civic participation strengthens the republic
- What to Report (15 min): Categories of reportable activity, priority levels, and examples of information that has helped prevent security incidents
- How to Report (15 min): Step-by-step walkthrough of the portal reporting system, the 0117 463 8742, ext. 150 hotline, and in-person reporting at district security offices
- After Reporting (15 min): What happens to your report, timeline for investigation, your obligations if contacted by investigators, and the confidentiality protections you receive
The Vigilance Score
Your civic reporting activity contributes to the community contribution component of your CDI score (weighted at 5%). While this may seem small, it can be the difference between CDI score thresholds that determine service access levels, housing tiers, and travel permit eligibility.
Citizens who complete this module receive a 5-point CDI bonus. Top reporters are recognised quarterly at the District Compliance Excellence ceremony.
