Apply for a Travel Permit
All travel beyond your registered district requires a valid travel permit issued by the Ministry of Security. Permits must be obtained at least 14 days before the intended travel date.
Permit types
- Intra-National (Type A): Travel between NDRC districts. Valid for up to 30 days. CDI score minimum: 500
- Border Zone (Type B): Travel to border regions. Additional security vetting required. CDI score minimum: 700
- International (Type C): Travel outside the NDRC. Requires Ministry of Security interview and Supreme Leadership approval. CDI score minimum: 850. Processing time: 60-90 days
- Work Assignment (Type W): Travel for state-assigned work duties. Arranged by employer through COMPASS. No CDI minimum but chargeability must be current
Application requirements
- Completed travel permit application form
- Written justification for travel
- Accommodation details at destination
- Return date confirmation
- Employer acknowledgement (for working-age citizens)
- Character reference from district administrator (for Type B and C)
Restrictions
Travel permits will be automatically denied for citizens who are: under active investigation by Ministry of Security, on the CLF watch list, in chargeability non-compliance, subject to district restriction orders, or have a CDI score below the required minimum.
